Year of our Lord

Two Thousand Eleven.

I usually don't make New Year's resolutions because the middle of the winter does not feel like an appropriate turning point. I make resolutions in the Spring, like the citizens of the Roman Republic. If they were into that kind of a thing.

This time the Kalends of Janus felt like a turning point. Seasons change and so do I. As a matter of public record, and for the purposes of auditing, I have made four New Year's Resolutions fit to publish.

  1. Hold down a job for +6 months (&or go back to school).
  2. Move out.
  3. Get serious about building a nascent art career. (&Or go back to school.)
  4. Read the ~52 unfinished/unread books I'm sitting on.
Notes:
One and three are likely. Four is doable. Two is a dream, but it's good to dream.
How many turning points can you have before you end up back where you started?

Free Rats!

I renamed my blog. Welcome to Rats on the Loose. This blog is mostly about what goes on in my room, and there are loose rats in there.

Coming soon: Cats on the Prowl, a blog for the other rooms of my house.

The Imajinary Alphabyt

When I started the Imaginary Alphabet, I gave it a cool-sounding but generic name to fill space. When I started this blog, most of the posts were cool but e/n filler.

Now I've discovered Imaginary Alphabets, which is both a cool project with a fitting name, and this place is becoming more incongruous with it's title.

So I'm going to change the name of the blog.

Chicken Fat!

Pushups aren't as awful as running is. I can do 7 max, currently.

Daylight Spendings Time

I went out and ran today. I did the first workout of the first week of The Couch to 5k program. I couldn't finish. I felt like throwing up afterwards. Tuesday's run will be better.

Pushups tomorrow. Maybe just during Spring Break.

My startup disk is full. I'm almost done organizing the music that's on it, then I can move it to my external. And finish downloading TNG. And move it to my external. If there is space.

There is a lot of Avant-Garde Project. Hans Werner Henze is pretty badical. How often do you hear that?

M.I.A.

Academics and responsibilities at school are preventing me from updating this as often as I'd like. But I'll return when the workload lessens.

I promise?
